New Releases: Good Omens, Rivals & more

Four releases. Four completely different worlds. Seventeen Guild members bringing every single one of them to life. Not bad for just one week! 

First, the finale that fans have waited years for. Good Omens Season 3 arrived on Amazon Prime Video and BBC, bringing the beloved story of angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley to its epic and deeply personal conclusion — their millennia-long friendship tested one final time as the Second Coming looms and the fate of the universe hangs in the balance. Guild members Mark Devlin (Line Producer), Lisa Neely (Financial Controller), Rebecca Daly (Post Production Accountant) and Jacqueline McBride (Production Accountant) were all part of the team behind this extraordinary send-off. 

Then, blockbuster spectacle on the biggest screen possible. Mortal Kombat II arrives in cinemas with fan favourite champions — now joined by Johnny Cage — pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn and protect the very existence of Earthrealm. Guild member Kristi McLaren served as Production Accountant on the film. 

For something altogether more intimate — but no less brilliant — The Christophers is a sly, wickedly funny black comedy directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel, following two scheming siblings who hire an art forger to secretly complete their dying father's unfinished paintings in a desperate bid for inheritance. Four Guild members were central to the production: Iain Canning (Producer), Sarah Boyks (Production Manager), Rachel Donkor (Financial Controller) and Desi Traichevska (Assistant Production Coordinator).

And rounding out a remarkable week, Rivals Series 2 lands on Disney+ — returning to the cutthroat world of 1980s British television, where ex-Olympian Rupert Campbell-Black and media mogul Lord Tony Baddingham's long-standing rivalry explodes once more amidst illicit affairs, buried secrets and the glamorous excess of Rutshire. Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett join the returning cast for this second series, with Guild members Ryan Flynn (Location Manager) and Paula Chidgey (Payroll Accountant) among the crew — and Paula is also this week's Member in Focus in the newsletter.
