I found so much of the course useful. The deep dive into post production, HR and accessibility was great. It was such a brilliant opportunity to have a session with a commissioner and hear about development green lighting, a conversation I wouldn't usually be a part of.

Panel Session: A Celebration of the Talent Development Fund

As the three-year programme came to an end, this panel session featured four participants from the course who shared their journeys, including the success they have found stepping up in Production and Production Accounting after the training.  Our brilliant panel sessions participants were Sarah Grieve (Production Accountant), Adanna Adams (Production Manager), Shyam Bansropun (Assistant Production Coordinator) and Charlie Doult (1st Assistant Accountant). Watch it back below!

The Talent Development Fund programme delivered 18 free training courses across a three-year period.

Courses included:

  • Step Up to Production Accountant
  • 1st Assistant Production Accountant Training
  • Introduction to and Step Up to Production Management
  • Introduction to Line Producer Training.
The course was really helpful. I really enjoyed the session on tax credits and the insurance training has been really useful for the show I'm on now, The Witcher. The Communication session was great too!

Upskilling talent outside of London is important to us, and so we worked closely with our centres in the Nations and Regions to deliver these courses. In year one, we ran an Introduction to Production Management course in Cardiff, while in year two we held a Step Up to Production Accountant course and Step Up to Production Management course in Glasgow, and a Step Up to Production Accountant course in Manchester.

Our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) provides an interactive platform to set assignments, resources and track progress of the participants beyond the course.

On top of the initial training and continued community through VLE, any trainees who are non-members also got the chance to become one of our PGGB Alumni, with a six month complimentary taster of our services. We also curate yearly online sessions exclusively for TDF alumni, and host annual networking drinks - all of which means we can keep in touch and further assist professional development, and keep the learning community going long after the course itself has finished.

The budgeting module was very insightful, full of practical nitty gritty tips and tricks which I’ve been using ever since. The session was great content wise, with very specific skills and knowledge. It was also great meeting execs and commissioners at Netflix.
