Ballad of a Small Player & More

In new releases this week, we’re highlighting the psychological thriller film Ballad of a Small Player, starring Colin Farrell and Tilda Swinton. Set against the glittering backdrop of Macau’s casinos, the film follows a high-stakes gambler running from his past and debts. He encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation. Filmed in Macau and Hong Kong, Ballad of a Small Player lands on Netflix this week.

Also coming to Netflix this week is the fourth season of The Witcher, starring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt and Laurence Fishburne as Regis. After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies.

Also new in TV this week is the thriller series Down Cemetery Road, starring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson. When a child goes missing in the aftermath of a house explosion, a concerned neighbour teams up with a private investigator to find them. The eight-episode series,  which was filmed in Bristol, Somerset and Cornwall, is now available to stream on Apple TV+.

And finally, new in TV is the BBC Scotland & Sky New Zealand production The Ridge, following a Scottish anaesthetist arriving in New Zealand for her sister’s wedding, only to find she has died. Shock turns to mounting horror as she's drawn into a small town's web of lies and secrets.
