In new releases this week, we’re highlighting Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham’s Adolescence, a devastating raw and formally impressive crime drama for Netflix.
Each of its four episodes was filmed in a single take, as we bear witness to a family torn apart by the actions of their 14-year-old son.
PGGB Members Gareth Jones and John Gillet worked on the series, alongside Partners and Affiliates Facilities by ADF, Buddha Group, Tysers, Sara Putt Associates, Salon Rentals and Location One.
Also new in television this week is Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, a four-part drama by Kelly Jones, which marks 70 years since the 1955 execution of 28-year-old Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Britain.
PGGB Members Lucy Jack, Angie Daniel and Aleksandra Czenczek worked on the production, with Partners and Affiliates SetKeeper, Team Engine, Film Offices: UK, Mission Digital, Location Collective & OMA Studio Group and Kent Film Office also involved.
On BBC iPlayer this week, there’s an entire new season of the Michelle Keegan-starring Ten Pound Poms, returning for a second series after debuting in 2023. The story follows a group of British citizens emigrating to Australia in the aftermath of the Second World War, where they were often referred to as Poms.
PGGB Members Matt Dalton and Anna Botka worked on the series, alongside Partners Tysers, Sara Putt Associates, TPH Global, Location Collective & OMA Studio Group and BCD Media & Entertainment.
New to ITVX is Belgravia: The Next Chapter – finally available to watch in the UK a year after its US debut. A follow up to the 2020 Julian Fellowes-penned drama Belgravia, the series is written by Helen Edmundson and is set in 1871, three decades after the events of the original series.
