Some films come along once in a generation. This week, our members were part of one.
The Odyssey arrives in cinemas on 17th July — Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation of Homer's ancient poem, following Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, on his long and perilous journey home following the Trojan War, as he encounters mythical beings including the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens and the nymph Calypso, while attempting to reunite with his wife Penelope. The film marks the first time IMAX 70mm film cameras were used for the entirety of a production — a historic technical achievement in its own right. The ensemble cast includes Matt Damon as Odysseus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o and more.
Four PGGB members were part of the extraordinary team that brought this production to life across multiple countries: Sofia Guiotto (Production Supervisor: UK), Matthew Moss (Production Supervisor: Italy & Scotland, Pre-Production), Alex Kerr (Production Accountant) and Rajneet Jabbal (First Assistant Accountant: Greece). Sofia is also this week's Member in Focus — head to the newsletter to read her full interview.
One production. Four members. A film that will be talked about for decades. Congratulations to everyone involved.
