The film reimagines Mary Shelley's classic tale of a brilliant scientist and the creature his monstrous ambition brings to life. The gothic melodrama was filmed in Scotland, England and Canada and is now streaming on Netflix.

Currently screening in cinemas is Yorgos Lanthimos's Bugonia, an absurdist black comedy following two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap a high-powered CEO, convinced that she is an alien. The film stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis and UK filming locations include Surrey, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Coming to Amazon Prime Video this week is the drama Hedda, starring Tessa Thompson, Imogen Poots and Tom Bateman. The film follows Hedda Gabler, who finds herself torn between the lingering ache of a past love and the quiet suffocation of her present life when long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt.
