This week, one of the most anticipated BFI-funded British films of the year arrives in cinemas.
The Incomer is set on a remote Scottish island, where two siblings survive by hunting seabirds, retelling the stories of their ancestors and defending their isle from dreaded "Incomers." Their world is upended with the arrival of an awkward council worker who has come to uproot them from their homeland. Written and directed by Louis Paxton, and starring Domhnall Gleeson, Gayle Rankin, Grant O'Rourke, Emun Elliott, Michelle Gomez and John Hannah — this is a strikingly original, deeply atmospheric piece of Scottish filmmaking, supported by the BFI and Screen Scotland.
Guild member Rhona Armstrong served as Production Accountant on the film — keeping the financial foundations of this remarkable production firmly in place.
One film. One member. One of the most distinctive British releases of the season. Congratulations Rhona — we're incredibly proud.
