Accountant

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading global distribution company specialising in scripted content, working with high-quality film and television projects across international markets.

THE ROLE

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day accounting for scripted content projects, including cost tracking and revenue recognition.
• Preparing and posting journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
• Overseeing month-end close processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting deadlines.
• Supporting finance teams with budget monitoring, cost reporting, and financial analysis.
• Handling revenue accounting for distribution deals, including licensing, royalties, and territory reporting.
• Collaborating with Accounts Payable and Receivable teams to ensure accurate coding and timely processing of invoices and receipts.
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations and treasury-related activities.
• Supporting audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.

THE PERSON

Relevant experience in a similar role is essential, ideally gained within media or distribution. You should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, including prepayments and revenue recognition, alongside excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of financial data accurately.

Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines are key to being successful in this role.

Lastly, you will have relevant accounting and finance experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
