This course lead by Jane Soans, is a day to pull together all the information needed to produce a “work in progress” budget, to provide producers with a realistic view of the location budget with regular / weekly updates.

Who is this course for?
ALMs stepping up to Location Managers or newly appointed Location Managers and Unit Mangers.
*It is assumed you will have a reasonable understanding of how spreadsheets work and how to find inevitable costs, e.g through film offices.
N.B: this course is not a MMB course.
Course Prep:
For the area you are working in/or would like to work in, please look up figures to have to hand for the course. For example: parking figures, crane license costs, licenses for lighting towers / trackway / scaffolding on pavement or highway, Traffic control costs and potential Unit base costs. Most film offices will publish these figures.
This course is part of a series alongside Location Agreements Essentials for Location Managers.

Lead Course Tutor
Jane Soans is an experienced Location Manager on feature films, modern and costume TV dramas and even a drama documentary.
Jane’s varied career includes working for the London Film Commission on its inception and later briefly for Film London as Location Advisor. She took time away from the “coal face” to be Film Officer for Camden and other boroughs for Film Fixer Ltd., and more recently has been teaching people the skills of Location Managing.
