In PACT’s previous update they informed you that following further negotiations a final offer had been sent to Bectu and that it would be taking that offer to a ballot of its members.
However, in order to ensure that there is no uncertainty over the wording being balloted on, it has been agreed – at Pact's suggestion – that the proposal be developed into a full agreement.
Understandably, this will take some additional time meaning that a new schedule has been proposed as follows:
Monday 31st October: Pact to consult members at Heads of Production meeting
Thursday 3rd November: Pact to send first draft of agreement to Bectu
Tuesday 8th November: Pact and Bectu meet to review draft agreement
Tuesday 15th November: Final changes to draft to be agreed by this date
Wednesday 16th November: Bectu member consultation starts
Wednesday 30th November: Bectu ballot opens
Saturday 11th December: Bectu ballot closes and result to be communicated as soon as possible.
Implementation
Should the offer be approved, the new agreement will come into effect on 1st January 2023, as per previously communicated. In the interim, you should continue to contract crew under the 2017 agreement with a provision for that engagement to be uplifted to the new terms – if voted for – on 1st January. There will be some transition provisions for programmes shooting this year.
We will continue to keep you updated should there be any changes to the above.
