Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Post
We are looking for a Film Officer to help manage filming activity across Brent, acting as a key contact for production companies, location managers and internal services. You will support everything from dealing with initial film location enquiries through to on-site coordination, helping to deliver a professional and efficient service that maximises income while minimising disruption to residents and businesses.
This is a varied and hands-on role covering commercial filming, stakeholder liaison, site visits, record keeping and financial administration. You will work with colleagues across the council and with external partners such as Film London, helping to coordinate filming projects, support road closures and parking arrangements, and ensure filming activity is safe, well managed and aligned with council policies.
You will also help communicate with residents, elected members and other stakeholders about filming-related activity, provide out-of-hours support where needed, and contribute ideas that strengthen the Film Office’s commercial offer. If you enjoy working at pace, building strong relationships and being part of high-profile filming projects, this is an exciting opportunity to make a visible impact.
The Person
You will have experience in a commercial, events, filming or similar customer-focused environment, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and build strong working relationships with a wide range of people. You will be organised, proactive and calm under pressure, with sound judgement and an eye for detail.
The ideal candidate will understand the importance of excellent customer service, political sensitivity and effective communication, and will be able to respond quickly to issues, identify practical solutions and work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and clients. You should be comfortable using systems to manage records or financial information and be willing to work evenings, weekends or nights when required.
You will bring relevant experience of coordinating activity, managing stakeholder relationships and supporting income generation, together with a good understanding of operational requirements such as health and safety, licensing and public liability considerations.
