Course Overview:
This two-day course, led by Producer Steve Clark-Hall, with Andrew Hill and Steven Johnson, gets into the crucial details of finances for people working with high budgets. It looks into the psychology of money and into the necessary specifics when budgeting on a production. From how to work out the contingency on a budget and finding out latest rates to looking at tax incentives.
What does the course cover?
- Setting up initial production plan (schedule/critical assumptions/budget).
- Post Production Budgets.
- Understanding and dealing with conflicting demands.
- Tax breaks.
- Fringes.
- Currencies.
- Ledgers.
- Pattern/Amort budgets.
- Going through the cost report with FC Andrew Hill. Working out the variants on a cost report at different stages of a production and the theory behind budgeting from where to allow, to what to watch out for.
- Working with accounts to manage spending departments/budgets.
- SAG and DGA monies, with Production Supervisor Steve Johnson.
- What to consider when working on international locations.
Who is this course for?
Production Management from Supervisors, PMs, UPMs to Line Producers. It is assumed you already have a basic knowledge of using MMB10.
