Scotland Launch Drinks

Tue 7th Nov 2023

On Tuesday 24th October 2023, the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) was excited to host the launch event for our Scotland committee, the fifth of our national and regional committees,  as part of the Nations & Regions project and in line with the British Film Commission's Stage Space Support Development Strategy hubs.

Our Scotland Committee was launched at a celebratory event at Voco Grand Central in Glasgow, where the PGGB team, along with Brian Donovan, Rosie Ellison and Jamie McCoy of the Committee, welcomed over 60 members, partners and industry peers to the city for a brilliant evening discussing the film and tv community in Scotland.

Scotland is home to major world-class content, and plays a vital role in bringing outstanding content to screen each year, from international big-budget titles like Amazon’s The Rig to homegrown hits like Oscar-nominated Aftersun. With a thriving industry that continues to expand, PGGB look forward to being able to better support and advocate for professionals working behind the camera in Scotland.

In attendance to this reception were individuals from all over Scotland, including Edinburgh and Glasgow. As a growing local industry there were guests from Film Bang, Screen Scotland, ITV, BFC and production companies as well as many talented freelancers. PGGB commercial partners, prospective members, industry colleagues were also present and contributed towards an encouraging evening for filming in Scotland
