PGGB featured in British Cinematography Magazine: Agents for change

Fri 7th Jul 2023

The latest issue of British Cinematographer  publishes part one of their special feature: Agents for Change. Zoe Mutter and Helen Parkinson write about several organisations within the film and TV community who are making a positive impact. Of the changemakers mentioned, PGGB has been recognised for the work of our Diversity Inclusion Action Group (DIAG) committee. As well as the Guilds annual Talent Showcase, of which we have an award for EDI Talent Initiative.

Also mentioned in the article was the topic of recruiting new talent to the industry, our CEO Lyndsay Duthie was quoted saying: “It is imperative to get into schools (not just college/universities), so children can consider a career in the creative industries. People are aware of some above the line roles, but many do not know there are 200 different roles on a film production.

“Another consideration is how productions are greenlit, often at pace with little lead in time. This can lead to recruitment practices not casting the net as wide as possible, as it takes time to go outside of your usual networks.”
