Online Session
2022 was the year of real-time virtual production, and its popularity is only rising.
Take a trip into LED virtual production by discovering first-hand insights from the studio floor using an example shot at 80six, one of the UK’s most versatile virtual production studios with bespoke LED Volumes.
Join 80six’s Marketing Manager, Aura Popa, and her special guest, Alexis Haggar, Visual Effects Supervisor at award-winning independent visual effects studio Lexhag VFX, for a conversation on how to plan your shoots for in-camera visual effects, from pre-vis to post-production.
Together, they will detail the capturing process for a few ICVFX scenes shot for a popular VICE TV documentary series, for which they employed both 3D environments created in Unreal Engine and 2D plates, such as in the case of the burning forest sequence.
Find out the tools and tricks used to fuse the physical and digital worlds and how the interaction between the LED volume, the chosen cinema camera, the real-time rendering engine, motion tracking system and stage lighting impacted the final image.
