Gaumont Ltd is looking for a Scripted Head of Development to cover a period of maternity leave.
Are you a Head of Development or senior Development Executive with at least 5 years’ experience of developing high-end, scripted TV shows for UK and international broadcasters & streamers?
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage Gaumont UK’s scripted development slate.
Key Tasks:
- Leading a team of Development and Script Executives.
- Generating new ideas, identifying emerging talent and fostering relationships with writers, directors and agents.
- Drive forward existing projects on the slate.
- Develop and foster relationships with commissioning broadcasters, streamers and co-production partners.
- Pitch projects to potential buyers to secure new greenlights.
- Reviewing and refining scripts, treatments and pitch documents.
- Collaborate with production, legal and finance teams on projects and on the acquisition of new projects.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record in scripted development at a senior level within a UK production company, broadcaster, or streamer.
- Strong editorial judgment with a keen eye for story, character, and structure.
- Experience managing teams, leading creative discussions, and working collaboratively with talent.
- Strong industry relationships with writers, directors, agents, and commissioning executives.
- Excellent communication and pitching skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and excitement in projects.
- A deep understanding of the UK and international television landscape.
- Passion for storytelling and an ability to balance creative ambition with commercial viability.
