Malte Grunert founded Amusement Park Film in 2009 and today manages it with Amelie von Kienlin. Klaus Dohle and Daniel Brühl are partners. Among the Berlin-based company’s award-winning productions were the co-production MR TURNER by Mike Leigh which premiered in competition for the Palme d'Or at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, A MOST WANTED MAN by Anton Corbijn starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as well as the Oscar®-nominated film LAND OF MINE by Martin Zandvliet, THE AFTERMATH starring Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård and MY ZOE, a film written and directed by Julie Delpy who also stars alongside Richard Armitage, Daniel Brühl and Gemma Arterton.
NEXT DOOR, the directorial debut feature of Daniel Brühl, premiered in the official competition at the Berlinale 2021. The Sky and CBS Studios series Munich Games aired in 2022, created by the Israeli author Michal Aviram (Fauda) and the director Philipp Kadelbach (Generation War, SS-GB). Amusement Park has built up a diverse slate of scripted projects, among them a serial adaptation of Günter Grass’ The Tin Drum with writer Tony Grisoni (Young Pope), a globetrotting action adventure with director Edward Berger and author Andres Heinz (BLACK SWAN) attached, and City of Night (WT), a serial adaptation of the graphic novel Berlinoir with director Philipp Kadelbach.
Grunert produced the 2022 Netflix feature ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT directed by Edward Berger, which was nominated in 14 categories at the 2023 BAFTAs and won seven - a new record for a film not in the English language (including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Film Not in the English Language). The film is nominated in nine Oscar® categories including Best Picture and Best International Feature.
