Mark Strainge

Production Accountant - Committee Member

Mark has worked in TV for near to 20 years, first starting in-house for the BBC in London on Factual & Events programmes as an accounts assistant. Mark then moved to Cardiff whilst working for the BBC and completing his time there working on Children’s Dramas. In 2013 he became freelance working for many Production companies (Bad Wolf, ITV, BBC Worldwide, New Pictures, Company Pictures, HBO) working on Contemporary and Period Dramas like Da Vinci’s demons, Midsomer Murders, The Spanish Princess and Sanditon.

Mark is now currently working as a Financial Controller for Bad Wolf on The Winter King.

Analysing spend on projects and working closely with producers to better utilise the budget on-screen is a key driver for Mark, even with the pressures of rising costs at the moment which proves challenging for any budget.

With the increase in TV productions over the past few years it has become harder to recruit good accounts staff especially the experienced roles, so being on the committee will be good to promote our Industry and trying to get a better pool of crew for Wales.
