"The Membership Mentoring Scheme provided a sense of community, a sense of belonging and support at a time in our industry where a lot of people out there were struggling. I can say, hand on heart, that this has been something that's really boosted me in my career.”
Stuart Jerome Learmonth
1st Assistant Director and PGGB Mentee

Mentoring is beneficial for both mentors and mentees.

  • Mentees undergo a journey of discovery, gaining priceless insights from some of the most successful heads of department in the industry.
  • Mentors have an opportunity to utilise their career experiences and reflect on their own work, whilst also to widening their skillset.

We recommend that pairings meet regularly, totalling six session over the course of the eight months.

Once we have selected & matched our mentors and mentees, we'll be in touch to understand your availability and your first session will be arranged and confirmed with you by PGGB. After this, the remaining five sessions should be arranged by pairings.

We understand that pairings may have other responsibilities to attend to during their day-to-day, so we encourage flexibility where needed when scheduling your sessions. They do not need to be an hour long, and they do not need to be every month, on the occasions where you might need to alter your schedules.

“I was very proud to be a mentor of the inaugural PGGB Mentoring Programme. Being able to guide our fellow Members is really important. Be it to grow their knowledge base, help steer career paths or simply to get advice, it ensures a stronger, greater community of filmmakers.”
