The event brought together organisations focusing on underrepresented talent, including London Screen Academy, Film London’s Equal Access Network, MAMA Youth, Hatch Films and Ghetto Film School for an evening of networking and collaboration. The Mixer, which included a speed networking opportunity for emerging filmmakers and crew, was a vital example of fostering connections and nurturing the next generation of talent in our industry.
Speaking on the night, PGGB’s Acting CEO Michael Beavan said “To stand side by side with Universal International Studios and the many talented and committed partners who collectively share our vision to further Equality, Diversity and Inclusion throughout our film and TV workforce is a powerful and passionate place to be. It was both an honour and truly enlightening to share experiences, vision and hope for what we can do when we are united in one goal for change."
Events such as the Talent Mixer form part of our work on improving diversity and inclusion in the film and TV workforce, a goal we know must underpin all that we do. We hope that initiatives such as this one can help to break down barriers and create pathways for under-represented talent to improve the industry for current and future generations.
