Reporting to the BBC’s Chief Economist, you will be expected to apply your creativity and expertise to both develop and deliver high quality analysis, taking a lead on projects across a wide range of areas, including:
As part of regulatory processes, undertake market impact analysis and public value assessments, applying competition economics skills and theories to real-world changes to BBC services (for example, analysing the public value and market impact of the BBC’s plans to launch four new radio stations);
Key public policy questions facing the BBC, including as part of the upcoming Charter Review process by DCMS;
Furthering the BBC’s understanding of the public value it delivers to audiences, the economy and wider society (for example, our recent reports on the BBC’s economic impact on Birmingham and Northern Ireland)
