Dates: Monday 13th – Friday 17th Oct 2025
Times: 9.30am to 5.00pm
Location: This course will be run in-person in Leeds
Lead Trainer: Samantha Scowcroft
Cost: Free of charge

Course Overview:

During this training participants will:

Gain clear insight and understanding of the role and responsibilities of the 1st Assistant Production Accountant through both practical and theoretical learning.
Be tutored and guided by an experienced Financial Controller and specialist Guest Speakers.
Benefit from mentorship and guidance from both tutors, The Production Guild of Great Britain and their peers.
Be eligible for complimentary six-month Alumni Membership to The Production Guild of Great Britain.

This course is recommended for:

Those with at least 2-3 credits in the Accounts Department on HETV or Feature Films (including 1 credit in Accounts Payable, Petty Cash/Pcards and Payroll, as there will be assumed practical knowledge in these areas). 
1st Assistant Production Accountants who have recently stepped up and wish to expand their knowledge. 
Those returning to work and looking to refresh their skills.

This training scheme will build upon existing knowledge with newly acquired skills, and will cover:

The role of the 1st Assistant Production Accountant 
Breakdown of: Controls and Balance Sheets & the Production Process 
Top tips in: Accounts Payable, Petty Cash & Pcards, Payroll
Common errors in: VAT 
Overview of: Cost Reporting 
Key skills: Mental Health Awareness, HR, Access & Inclusion, Leadership & Communication and more.
