A Tribute to Sallie Beechinor

It is with great sadness that we must report that Production Guild Member Sallie Beechinor lost her brave and bitter fight with cancer on the 18th of February 2026.

In her honour, we have created this memorial page where you can share your memories of Sallie. If you would like to contribute to the page, please email pg@productionguild.com.

All at the Guild send Sallie's family and friends our deepest sympathies and condolences.

Sallie, or to be un-necessarily correct, Saza-Jane Beechinor started her long and illustrious career in the film industry at Bray Studios in the early 1970s. The business was very different then. She had a lot of fun there with her work colleagues with lots of after-work parties

She started as a Production Secretary then moving on to Production Assistant and finally to Production Coordinator. She was Production Manager on a few occasions, but she preferred the Coordinator role in both film and TV. 

“We worked together and her open-ness, her empathy, her great sense of humour and her unforgettable laughter are still so present.”

She went on to become one of the most highly regarded and highly respected people in film and TV production both at home and abroad. 

“Sallie, you’re an absolute powerhouse — truly one of the most formidable strongest people I know, and a total legend both inside and beyond the production office.”

“She was a consummate perfectionist , funny, witty, clever, charming, driven and above all, loyal.”

“She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her for her very own lovely and wonderful way of dealing with whatever was thrown at her."

“I'm loving the sweet posts from your erstwhile runners etc: it's a testament to your professionalism and wonderful character that you are remembered so fondly”

“Heartbroken to hear about the loss of a respected colleague and friend. Their contribution to the film world and to everyone who had the privilege of working alongside them will never be forgotten.”
