Less than twelve months on from launching their Nations and Regions: Wales Committee, The Production Guild of Great Britain returned to Wales to host their third event as they looked to further support the breadth of talent across the nation.
Hosted by Voco St. Davids on a stunning and clear night in Cardiff Bay, members of PGGB’s Wales Committee – Edward Rastelli-Lewis (chair) and Mark Strainge (committee) – welcomed guests from across the UK who all had two things in common; experience and insight in the production sector, and a vested interest in the current ability and further potential of Wales in the industry.
Sponsored by Entertainment Partners and Facilities by ADF, PGGB’s Wales reception saw speeches highlighting the output from the nation – including the recently-released Lost Boys and Fairies and iconic Cardiff mainstay, Doctor Who – whilst whispers filled the room of a huge Amazon series that was bedding in locally too. The presence of the British Film Commission was hugely welcomed, as was the opportunity to find out more about PGGB’s continued work across its Nations and Regions Committees.
As the sun set over the bay, all in attendance shared stories and rumours whilst greeting friends and making acquaintances with new ones, and fedback to PGGB that they really enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of their peers informally.
Production is once again booming in Wales, which brings a host of opportunities for our members locally and from further afield.
We’re already looking forward to the next one, and can’t wait to see all of you again!
