About
In 2016 I was Series Producing Prison: First & Last 24 Hours for Sky One. I had been working in documentaries for 20 years directing and producing shows like Robson Green Extreme Fishing, Ross Kemp Inside Barlinnie and blue chip factual series like Shephen Hawking's Brave New World. I thought my drama ship had sailed until I was accepted on The Screen Skills High End Drama Producer scheme. I had fantastic training at the NFTS and specially convened masterclasses and an 18 month placement as Co-Producer on Les Miserables. On Les Mis I worked alongside a wonderful Producer Chris Carey and was exposed to all parts of production. I also Directed a very busy Second Unit - anything from a full scale riot with over 100 extras and 6 cast to soldiers firing on the barricades and scenes with lead actors.
After Les Mis I was Co-Producer on Dracula (BBC1/ NETFLIX, Hartswood Films) working alongside another fabulous producer Sue Vertue. I was mainly across Ep2 (based on a old sail ship at sea...aka Studio 1 at Bray Studios - so lots of VFX and a complex build for the Art Department). I am currently Producer of Shetland Season IX (6 part series BBC1) having also produced Season VI and VII in one year under COVID and re-invented the show in Season VIII with new Lead Ashley Jensen joining forces with Alison O Donnell.
Production Credits
(Made during lockdown with its unique challenges of this on top of the logistical issues of working in Britain’s most northerly outpost. I produced two seasons (Season 6 and Season 7.12 hours of HETV drama. I was invited back to reinvent the show with two female leads - Ashley Jensen and Alison O Donnell for Season 8 ) )
(I worked alongside Hartswood Films Series Producer Sue Vertue in all aspects of Production. I had responsibility for Episode 2 and worked with Director Damon Thomas throughout prep and filming. I was also Second Unit Director with responsibility of shooting part scenes with main cast. )
(Funded by Skillset and The BBC I worked alongside Producer Chris Carey in all aspects of Production. I was also Second Unit Director with responsibility of shooting scenes with main cast, stunts, weapons firing and drones.)
