Smarter, Cleaner, Faster: Practical Sustainable Travel Strategies for Film & HETV

Masterclass

Productions don’t have the luxury of avoiding travel; they need to be on-site, often at speed. This masterclass explores how to make those journeys smarter and more sustainable. We’ll share practical strategies for reducing emissions without disrupting filming schedules, from optimising routes and choosing greener models to working with suppliers who meet credible sustainability standards.

You’ll also learn how audit-ready reporting can simplify compliance and support studio requirements, and why solutions like sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and high-quality offsetting are becoming key tools for decarbonising production travel.

Session Summary and Topics

• Sustainable travel is beyond carbon

• Practical strategies for reducing emissions from essential travel (routes, direct flights, rail/EV where feasible)

• How audit-ready reporting simplifies compliance and supports studio requirements

• SAF and offsetting: what they are, why they matter, and how productions can access them

• Innovations shaping the future of production travel: electric aircraft, carbon reporting, and more
