The Film Physios are a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals operating within the field of film and television with a focus on crew and production health and wellbeing. They achieve this by making crew appointments with physiotherapists and osteopaths accessible on set, on location, on call and at their on the lot studio clinics. Their goal continues to be the creation of a crew and production health support system.
Recent works include the features Snow White, Heart of Stone, House of the Dragon and Wicked parts 1&2.
Using Wicked as a deep dive example the Film Physios team will illustrate how as Allied Health Professionals they integrated into the production, the role they played and the associated benefits their presence had across all levels of the production, including that of fulfilling a productions obligation towards crew wellbeing. They will also clarify best practice considerations when it comes to a production seeking health professionals, enabling future productions to make more informed choices when seeking therapists to support crew, performers and cast.
