Our capture studios are located on Goldfinger Avenue at the world famous Pinewood Studios, UK. Our head office is based within the Cinesite global HQ, close to the creative hub of Soho in central London.
This role requires core skills and experience in motion capture to primarily support the Virtual Production team on-set. The position is also designed to evolve based on your unique expertise and interests in the field, offering a unique opportunity to expand your skill set, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and work on-set for various Film, TV and Games projects.
Responsibilities:
● Daily setup and operation of MotionBuilder, Unreal Engine or Xsens in a live environment
● Preparing props, assets, character rigs and environments for the motion capture stage
● Reacting to feedback and making scene adjustments on the fly based on client requests
● Maintaining a high level of data quality throughout the pipeline
● Building tools and User Interfaces to enhance our Virtual Production toolset
● Identifying areas for improvement in existing processes and implementing new ideas
● Executing varied and technically difficult work in high pressure production environments
Must have:
● 2+ years experience using Unreal Engine and/or Autodesk MotionBuilder
● Familiarity with Vicon Shogun or similar optical motion capture software. Additional hands-on experience using inertial suits and gloves is a bonus.
● Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in a studio environment
● Proactive attitude to tasks and ability to independently work on projects as necessary
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills and diplomacy
● Highly computer literate
● An expressed interest in working in Film / TV / Video Games
● Knowledge of Autodesk Maya or another similar DCC
● 3D modelling experience
● The ability to get to and work from Pinewood Studios
Useful to have:
● Degree or relevant qualification in Computer Animation, VFX, Tech Art or similar subject
● Specialism in an additional area relevant to motion capture or virtual production. This could be character rigging, game engine level optimisation, camera skills, etc.
● Familiarity with Unreal Blueprints or Python
● Experience working on-set
● Interest in immersive experiences and emerging technologies
● Experience in using perforce and Multiuser in UE5
