The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Development Executive to work within a close-knit and busy team at The Development Partnership (TDP), the production arm of The Partnership Group (TPG).
TPG is a collective of agencies and companies, including The Artists Partnership, Sayle Screen, Sara Putt Associates, Henneman Agency, The Development Partnership, Be Heard Voices, Seventh Productions and Unlocked Podcasts. We represent prominent and award-winning actors, writers, directors, heads of department and crew, alongside premium IP and underlying rights, and produce high-end television, film and theatre.

Our most recent productions include KING AND CONQUEROR, directed by Balthasar Kormákur, starring James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for BBC and CBS, and HE HAD IT COMING a 6x30 comedy drama for Stan in Australia, coming out in November.
The Senior Development Executive will work across a range of projects, focusing on television series along with a small number of features, on TDP’s growing slate. You will also work across The Partnership Group’s departments and agencies, to identify cross-development opportunities.
This role reports to the MD of The Partnership Group and will be based in Soho, 5 days a week. There is also the option to work from home 1 day a week.
Main Responsibilities
- Originating, identifying and developing new ideas which align with TDP’s creative and business strategies; primarily projects to develop with TPG clients in mind
- Reading submitted books, scripts and materials, whilst researching and keeping track of IP and ideas for adaptation
- Helping to develop and manage projects across the slate, often leading creatively on projects
- Editing scripts, generating / collating notes and story-lining with writers and other team members on projects, creating and editing pitch documents
- Identifying and meeting emerging and experienced writers, filmmakers and producers
- Communication with talent, producers and executives of all levels in relation to projects – specifically on projects managing relationships and maintaining continuous communication within creative teams.
- Aiding in the process of submitting and pitching projects to commissioners and buyers,
- Helping to create and maintain commercial strategy and tailoring this for each project
What we are looking for
- Previous experience as a Development Executive in a television production company
- Identifying, developing and managing projects from the start of the development process to the pitching process with buyers and beyond
- Strong relationships with writers, talent, producers and commissioners, both in the UK and internationally
- A proven track record of identifying promising writers, as well as IP ripe for adaptation
- Experience of script editing series in production is a plus
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong and confident interpersonal skills
- A passion for storytelling in its different forms, keeping up to date with television and film of all genres
- Keen to work in a small and close-knit team; working in and managing the team when necessary
- Strong problem solving skills; the ability to take responsibility and initiative when managing projects
- A self-starter; driven and proactive in pushing projects forward
- Ability to balance commercial and creative instincts when identifying and developing projects
- Can communicate effectively with talent of all levels, handling situations and information sensitively
- Strong knowledge of the television and film markets, within the UK and internationally
- Curiosity for all aspects of the industry
