Role purpose
Largely funded by annual membership fees, funding from trusts and foundations and grants, this role will be responsible for ensuring we grow our memberships with a compelling offer of products and services. albert’s membership covers a range of organisations including broadcasters, streamers, production groups and production companies at a range of membership levels.
The Relationships Manager will play a key role in supporting albert’s existing UK and International membership and key industry partners and stakeholders. This is a strategic and outward-facing role, responsible for maintaining existing relationships and building strong networks across the screen industries, managing high-value relationships, and securing income to support albert’s mission. Working closely with the BAFTA albert leadership team, you will grow and shape a thriving network that maximises impact and influence in sustainability.
Who you’ll be
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Membership, Engagement & Growth
- • Lead albert’s membership offer, developing value, benefits, and communications to engage and retain members.
- • Drive recruitment of new members across broadcasters & distributors in film, TV, streamers, production companies and grow the footprint of international partners.
- • Oversee the smooth onboarding of members and ensure high-quality ongoing support.
- • Build strong relationships with members, assessing needs and feeding insights into albert’s strategic priorities, including Task Force discussions.
Business Development
- • Identify, pitch to, and secure strategic memberships aligned with albert’s sustainability goals.
- • Negotiate agreements and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and clear expectations.
- • Collaborate with BAFTA’s Commercial Partnerships team to extend opportunities across the wider organisation.
- • Develop and deliver strategic partner events and initiatives to deepen relationships and showcase impact.
International Engagement & Development
- • Account manage international franchise/licensee arrangements and support global members with ongoing training and resources.
- • Implement albert’s international partnership roadmap, managing relationships with global media companies, broadcasters & distributors, and industry bodies.
- • Prioritise and deliver country-specific project plans to extend albert’s reach and influence.
- • Monitor and respond to opportunities for global collaboration.
- • Represent the international perspective within the Task Forces to ensure global industry trends are considered and highlighted.
Fundraising & Income Generation
- • Collaborate with the BAFTA Partnerships and Fundraising teams to maximise income generation.
- • Prepare proposals, manage applications, and report on progress to funders.
- • Project manage the timely completion of funder deliverables, working cross functionally within albert to track and manage progress.
- • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and track performance against targets.
- • Engage members with BAFTA albert products and services, eg Suppliers Directory, Studio Sustainability Standard, BAFTA albert Academy courses, etc
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- • Act as a key point of contact for all members, international partners, grants & trustees, bespoke partnerships and industry stakeholders.
- • Build effective relationships with film commissions, intergovernmental organisations, and other relevant bodies.
- • Work cross-functionally with BAFTA albert’s marketing and communications team to amplify impact.
- • Support colleagues by sharing insights from UK and International members.
- • Maintain accurate records on Salesforce
Team Development
- • Foster a collaborative and supportive culture, building team capability to deliver at scale, working in a matrix way.
- • Responsible for line managing team members and supporting their development.
- • Represent the membership and international perspective within BAFTA albert’s leadership team.
Ideally you will have:
- Strong track record in stakeholder management, account management, or membership engagement.
- Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing complex relationships.
- Significant experience in business development, or fundraising.
- Experience working in international markets and/or with global partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to generate income and deliver against targets.
- Experience developing or managing franchise/licensing models.
- Fundraising experience across multiple income streams.
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM system
