The BFI is looking for a Fund Manager to be responsible for the provision of expert assessment and management of the Slate Fund and the International Co-production (Majority) strand of the UK Global Screen Fund (UKGSF).

This encompasses reading and assessing funding applications, working with external consultants and a selection committee made up of industry experts on the selection process and developing outreach strategies to engage prospective companies across the UK screen sector with the Fund and with the BFI.

Role responsibilities

  • As part of the UKGSF team, to read and assess projects in accordance with the application guidelines and funding priorities; to work with external consultants and a selection committee made up of industry experts on the selection process; to exercise good and fair judgment; and to communicate responses to colleagues and applicants swiftly and confidently.
  • Identify and track professionals and companies suitable for potential funding and provide an environment to supported and prospective applicants to the fund which is built on expertise, trust, respect, inclusivity, enthusiasm and enquiry. Broker domestic and international relationships with relevant companies, industry peers and practitioners across screen sectors and in adjacent industries.
  • Undertake research, planning, design and development work as appropriate or as directed by the Head of UKGSF and International Funds and in consultation with external consultants, as relevant.

 

Person specifications

  • Significant, demonstrable experience working across a development, production and/or sales and distribution capacity within the screen sector, preferably in an internationally-facing role and/or on co-productions. This experience can include the management of public funds that relate to the development and production or co-production sector. 
  • A proven track record of working with external screen sector stakeholders and establishing contacts within the screen industry, developing strong relationships with relevant stakeholders both in the UK and internationally.
  • In-depth knowledge of international screen business, networks and potential opportunities for UK content.
