The Role:
Assistant Producers originate, organise, and plan the development of factual television programmes, documentary films.
You will work across the factual slate, on multiple assigned projects and will go beyond simply researching a topic, you will contribute original ideas, develop ideas, find and secure contributors and produce sizzles and treatments of ideas for market as required by the Creative Directors.
You will be used to working to tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously, undertaking independent research and utilising both internal and external resources.
Key Responsibilities:
· Suggest well researched ideas and toplines.
· Find angles to and secure access to stories and the people behind them.
· Build and manage an extensive and up to date bank of knowledge and contacts.
· Gathering, fact-checking and presenting relevant information, facts and figures often against tight deadlines.
· Organising meetings and conducting interviews with contributors.
· Writing and editing treatments, briefing notes and scripts for sizzles.
Key Skills and Experience:
· Ability to think creatively and contribute ideas for series and formats with a genuine interest in and knowledge of content in all its forms in both the UK and the US, from TikTok to television, YouTube to podcasts and everything and anything in between.
· Extensive research experience, including suggesting and researching original and imaginative programme ideas, and securing access to contributors, locations and archive material.
· High journalistic standards including excellent research and writing skills.
· Excellent organisational skills.
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to remain determined when trying to track down hard to find information and people whilst working to protocols, safeguarding and GDPR regulations.
· Can work independently as well as part of a team.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.
· Ability to edit on either iMovie or Premiere desired but not essential.
