The British Stunt Register (BSR) is a non-profit membership organisation that represents over 500 professional stunt coordinators and performers, and supports over 200 trainees on their journey to join the BSR, in the UK. With a history dating back to 1973 with the first directory published "Stunt Arrangers & Performers: A register approved jointly by the Film Production Association of Great Britain and British Actors' Equity Association", this movement grew into the Joint Industry Stunt Register and ultimately evolved into what is now the British Stunt Register - it exists to maintain high standards of safety, skill and professionalism within stunt work, and aims to set the benchmark for professional stunt performers in the UK.
The BSR prides itself on its highly skilled members having undertaken a continued structured peer-reviewed pathway from application as a Probationary Stunt Performer through to Stunt Coordinator. The structured grading system recognises performers based on verified skills and experience, providing productions with a clear framework for understanding members’ backgrounds and achievements.
Members of the BSR are actively involved in productions worldwide, across TV, film, SVOD, games, and commercials. The organisation aims to provide productions with access to highly trained professionals working to execute complex action to a consistent standard as safely as possible.
