New Releases: Slow Horses S6, Bad Apples & more

Fri 18th Sep 2026

What a week for the Production Guild community. Four major releases. Twelve members. And productions spanning espionage, dark comedy, highland romance and organised crime — all landing on the same September weekend.

Slow Horses Series 6 arrived on Apple TV+ on 16th September — the multi-BAFTA winning spy thriller returning for another brilliantly crafted instalment of espionage, dark humour and Gary Oldman at his magnificent best as the dishevelled Jackson Lamb. Guild members Iain Canning (Executive Producer) and Nicky Earnshaw (Executive Producer, Head of Production at See-Saw Films) were part of the team behind it.

Also today, Bad Apples arrived in cinemas via Vice Studios and Republic Pictures — the wickedly sharp comedy thriller following Maria, a young primary school teacher whose life spirals after one unruly pupil pushes her to breaking point. Starring Saoirse Ronan in what is already being called one of her finest performances. Three Guild members were central to the production: Bianca Gavin (Head of Production), Benjamin Greenacre (Co-Producer) and Charlotte Taylor (Production Manager) — and Ben and Charlotte are this week's Member in Focus, with insight from Bianca. Head to the newsletter to read their full interview.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Series 2 also landed today — continuing the beloved prequel saga following the intertwining love stories that gave rise to Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall. Four Guild members were part of the Left Bank Productions team: Lisa Neely (Financial Controller), Hazel Borthwick-McShannon (Production Manager), Alex Carrodus-Cook (Production Supervisor) and Meredith Wilson (1st Assistant Accountant).

And rounding out an extraordinary week, Mobland Series 2 arrived on Paramount+ — the acclaimed crime drama returning with Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan as the Harrigan family faces its most dangerous chapter yet. Three Guild members were part of the production: Joanna Bates (Financial Controller), Steve Mortimore (Supervising Location Manager) and Carmen Marina Martinez (Production Coordinator).

Four productions. Twelve members. One extraordinary weekend for the Guild.
