First, arriving in cinemas today, Other Mommy is Rob Savage's terrifying new supernatural horror, based on Josh Malerman's acclaimed novel Incidents Around the House. When a paranormal entity takes on the appearance of young Bela's mother, her family is pushed to the very edge of sanity as they try to separate the real from the unreal — before it's too late. Jessica Chastain delivers a dual performance as both Ursula and the terrifying Other Mommy herself, alongside Jay Duplass and Karen Allen, produced by James Wan for Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. Two Guild Members were part of the Additional Photography team: Nessa King (Financial Controller) and Ceri Whitley (2nd Assistant Accountant).
Also in cinemas today, The Uprising tells the story of the Merthyr Rising of 1831 — when Welsh ironworkers took to the streets in one of the most significant uprisings in British history, driven to breaking point by poverty, injustice and a system that had pushed them too far. Guild Member Lara Sargent (Post Production Accountant) and Production Guild Board Member was part of the team that brought this powerful story to the screen.
On ITV1 and ITVX from 11th October, The Party — from the creators of Line of Duty and Vigil, based on Elizabeth Day's acclaimed novel — follows journalist Martin Gilmour, whose lifelong friendship with wealthy politician Ben Fitzmaurice is torn apart when a shocking event at a party triggers a police investigation. Starring Luke Evans, Tom Cullen and Joanna Scanlan, filmed in Wales. Two Guild Members were part of the production: Lucy Howell (Assistant Accountant) and Emry Williams (Production Coordinator).
And on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, The Split Up — the much-anticipated spin-off from Abi Morgan's beloved The Split — is now streaming in full. Set in the charged world of Manchester's high-net-worth divorce circuit, the series follows Aria Kishan, the fast-rising star of her family's law firm who is poised to take over from her father Dhruv, until a past secret resurfaces and threatens everything they've built. Starring Ritu Arya and Sanjeev Bhaskar, with an ensemble cast including Lenny Henry, Jane Horrocks and Sindhu Vee. Guild Member John Gillett served as Financial Controller on the production.
