Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced, collaborative and hands-on Head of Production (Maternity Cover) to provide senior production leadership across the business.

Working closely with our Executive Producers, Creative Collective, clients and Finance team, you'll oversee the day-to-day production function, ensuring projects are delivered smoothly, teams are supported, budgets are managed effectively and our creative and production standards are maintained.

You'll also play an active role in developing client relationships, supporting new business opportunities and overseeing the continued growth of Final Pixel Academy.

We're a small, ambitious and collaborative team, so we're looking for someone who can quickly become part of the business, bringing strong leadership, excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and a willingness to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Production Management

• Oversee projects from handover through to final delivery, ensuring schedules, budgets and production outcomes remain on track.
• Maintain visibility across active and upcoming productions, ensuring effective communication and coordination between departments.
• Identify and resolve production risks, escalating significant issues to Executive Producers and senior leadership where required.
• Ensure clear documentation, reporting and project handovers.

Budgets & Commercial Management

• Support the development of project bids and budgets alongside Executive Producers.
• Oversee production expenditure, forecasts and cost reporting, identifying potential overspends early.
• Negotiate vendor rates, contracts and terms, ensuring appropriate financial controls and agreements are in place.
   

Client Management & Business Development

• Manage day-to-day client relationships, maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout production.
• Nurture existing client relationships and identify opportunities for new business.
• Work with the senior team to develop relationships with prospective clients, brands, agencies and IP owners.
• Support new business pitches, treatments, proposals and creative opportunities.

Creative Partnership & Post-Production

• Work closely with creative teams to translate creative ambitions into achievable production plans.
• Oversee post-production schedules, budgets and deliverables across editorial, VFX, sound, music, colour and finishing.
• Ensure smooth communication between creative and post-production teams, maintaining delivery standards.

Team Leadership & Support

• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the Production and Virtual Art Department teams.
• Oversee team priorities, workloads and resources, identifying where additional support is required.
• Foster a positive, collaborative and inclusive working environment, supporting team development and wellbeing.

Production Wrap

• Oversee final budget reconciliations, vendor closeouts and production paperwork.
• Ensure all production documentation, assets and outstanding deliverables are appropriately managed and archived.

Final Pixel Academy

• Oversee the day-to-day management and development of Final Pixel Academy.
• Coordinate Academy projects, scheduling and resources alongside wider production commitments.
• Support new partnerships, commercial opportunities and initiatives to grow the Academy.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong production experience with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

You'll be confident leading teams and managing complex productions, but equally comfortable working hands-on alongside colleagues. You'll be organised, commercially aware, adaptable and calm under pressure, with a genuine interest in creativity, technology and the future of entertainment production.
