We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager or an accounts focused person with similar experience to take ownership of our financial operations — someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved in every aspect of our finance function from quite basic invoice creation and payment work to financial reporting and assisting the MD with financial growth guidance. As the business expands, there is a genuine opportunity to take on a second accounts person and build out your own small team.
This isn’t a typical Fnance Manager roll. A big part of the job involves detective work. Our hire dates often change, and invoicing them accurately means working through email chains and system notes to piece together what was actually supplied and what periods need invoicing. If you’re a hands-on finance professional who’s as comfortable chasing down the detail as managing the bigger picture, this could be the perfect role for you. Applicants must also be Xero experts.
The Role
This is a hands-on role, and most of your time will be spent on the day-to-day running of our finances: client invoicing and credit control, supplier bills and payments, bank reconciliations and payroll preparation. You will also look after HR and office administration, and the paperwork behind our renewable fuel compliance and health & safety. Alongside this, you will produce financial reports and work closely with the Managing Director on budgeting, cash flow and the company’s growth objectives. This is a broad role in a small, close-knit team, and you will need to be as comfortable with the routine processing as with the reporting and planning side.
