Simply Stem

Simply Stem provides a range of sustainable products for the film industry and beyond.

Simply Stem was founded by Production Guild Member, Charlotte Michel (Co-ordinator) and Giles Barron (Assistant Director) in 2020 after them witnessing many years of working on set and the vast amount of waste. They are on a mission to sell the best sustainable products that they can find as well as starting up an education programme to help us all learn about the confusing disposal methods we are faced with.

Available Products:

- Compostable Catering Disposables: Simply Stem sell a small range of great compostable catering products with the hope that all caterers in the UK will be serving their food out of the same products so it makes it easier for crews to know how to dispose of. They are also researching re-usable catering products to sell in the future… watch this space.

- Home Compostable Garment Covers: exclusively available from Simply Stem in the UK at the moment, they have created a partnership with the manufacturer TIPA to sell their plastic-free / home compostable garment covers to try to eliminate single-use plastic in the costume departments.

A collection service is also offered to make sure the garment covers are disposed of correctly.
