I have always been interested in Film, and this passion led me to work in cinema management, where I discovered my strengths in financial and payroll administration. There I gained experience in cash management, floats reconciling and petty cash recording as well as developing best practice for accurate invoice checks and system corrections. I also benefited from experience in time-sheets entry, calculating working hours, and reporting towards P&L.
During this time, I also completed a BA in Arts Management that gave me an insight into the UK's creative industry and expanded my Film and TV knowledge.
After 10 years in cinema operations, I decided to change my career and started the AAT/IAB training up to a level 2, which led me into payroll administration for the recruitment sector, where I was responsible for setting up new contractors and processing their weekly timesheets. At that time, I was looking for a way to combine my passion for Film and my analytical and numerical skills.
I was very excited when I was accepted on APATS scheme as I hope it will help me to develop a solid base to build a career in production accounting, where I can use my enthusiasm for Film and TV industry and increase my experience.
