Malika Keswani (Chair), Production Manager (UK Non-Fiction)

Malika is a driven individual with senior production management experience gained and applied at blue chip organisations within Unscripted. Malika's experience ranges across genres such as: Magazine, Daytime TV, Factual, Entertainment, Political satire, Commercial Adverts, Music Videos, Live Events/OB’s and Docs where she has managed large teams and productions with budgets up to £15m alongside having a working knowledge of Amort and Pattern Budgeting for US productions as well as Movie Magic. Malika has also been involved in the project management of the multi-million pound budget for ITV Daytime’s move from Southbank to White City. Alongside her mainstream experience Malika is also experienced in the production of content for terrestrial broadcasters broadcasting to the Middle East which has involved liaising with stakeholders on cultural/financial/legal/risk considerations for the licensing and reproduction of popular TV formats for the region.

As a long-standing member of the Production Guild since 2010, Malika is well connected and has been invited to give talks at the University of Greenwich to media students interested in perusing a career in film/TV while also being invited to speak at the EU commission in line with research on the roll out of 5G technology and its benefits in the media landscape. Malika is also the UK liaison for "On The Road-India" which specializes in production services for international film, television, commercial and still projects shooting in India and South Asia.

Alongside her passion for fostering diversity, Malika also understands the importance of sustainability and has been part of the Production Innovation Panel of 12 at the BBC, which focuses on various work streams within the business. Her role involved pitching Pan-BBC applicable ideas to Senior Management be tabled to the board & also ensuring that the right conversations take place at local green light meetings & are reported back to the panel.

Malika is now extremely excited to embark on her role as Chair to the Diversity Action Group in line with working with the action group and driving positive change in the industry.
