Jo Burn

Starting as a Producer’s Assistant, Jo immediately knew that the production route was for her. When she was offered the opportunity to production manage in 1996 she leapt at the chance. In those days, the opportunity for a woman to progress from Production Co-ordinator or Script Supervisor was rare - women seldom became UPMs! This first-hand experience led to a greater drive to promote women in areas of film-making where opportunities may be limited. In turn, this raised awareness about the lack of diversity in this industry. Jo hopes that by representing our members at board level she can continue to help address these important issues.
