Hedsor House is a spectacular exclusive use Georgian House and country park located in the heart of the beautiful Thames Valley in Taplow, South Buckinghamshire.
The stunning Georgian house with 11 beautiful bedrooms is perched high above the River Thames and set in over 100 acres of historic parkland. Located a stone’s throw from central London, Hedsor House is ideally located close to all the amenities of the city and Heathrow Airport. As you drive down the kilometre-long, rhododendron-lined drive, you will feel a whole world away from the bustle of the city as you’re met by the estate’s famous Highland Cattle.
With one of the largest and most luxurious suites in Europe at 2500sq feet, its panoramic, double aspect views across Hedsor Park fill the suite with warmth and natural light. Restored period features reflect Hedsor House’s illustrious heritage and charm, like the original 1920’s bathroom, lined from floor to ceiling with luxurious onyx marble complete with a chandelier in the shower! It must be seen to be believed!
The house was originally designed by Sir William Chambers, the architect of Somerset House, with the help of King George III and Queen Charlotte. The house was once famously the home of Dowager Princess of Wales, mother of George III and the founder of Kew Gardens. Fascinating diary entries describe how the house regularly welcomed Kings, Queens and royal children from nearby Windsor Castle. The beautiful Georgian house underwent an extensive renovation and restoration project in the mid to late 2000s. In 2007, for the first time in 800 years, Hedsor opened her doors to the world by starring as Nicole Kidman’s home in the box office hit, The Golden Compass.
